What is Morphe Google Photos?

Google Photos is the gallery and cloud backup app that comes with most Android phones. This build applies Akash-Sriram/morphe-google-photos, a small community bundle written for the Morphe patcher. It isn't part of the official Morphe patches, and the APK is produced by the community AutoBuilds pipeline, not by Morphe or by this site.

The patch people come for is Spoof features, which makes Photos believe it's running on a Google Pixel so Pixel-only features appear. The patch author says that includes unlimited storage. That's Google's call on its servers, though, so treat it as something that may work today and stop working later. The other patches are quieter: per-folder backup control, a true black dark mode, a flag manager, and a fix for AI tools that refuse to download on mobile data.

What this Google Photos build changes

Pixel feature spoofing

Reports the device as a Google Pixel so Pixel-exclusive features show up. Backup storage limits are still enforced by Google's servers.

Backup folder control

The Camera and DCIM folders no longer back up no matter what. You choose folders one by one, and memory collages and creations get exported to DCIM/Google Photos.

AMOLED dark theme

Dark surfaces turn true black, which looks better on OLED screens. Light mode is left alone.

Flag manager and toolkit

Adds a flag manager to Photos settings for trying experimental redesigns, video editor tools and other feature flags.

AI model and font fixes

Gets past the 0 MB mobile data check that stops AI models from downloading, and fixes fonts that load blank in Stories and parts of the UI.

Sign-in without root

The GmsCore support patch renames the package and routes Google sign-in through microG, so it works on an unrooted phone.

Setting up Morphe Google Photos

  1. Install MicroG RE first. You need it to sign in with your Google account, because the patched app uses microG instead of Google Play Services. Setup and common sign-in errors are in the MicroG RE guide.
  2. Download the Universal APK from the box above and install it, allowing your browser or file manager to install unknown apps if Android asks.
  3. You don't have to remove the preinstalled Google Photos. The patched app uses its own package name, so it shows up as a second Photos app.
  4. Open it, sign in through MicroG, give it access to your photos and set up backup the way you want.

If you keep both apps, turn backup off in one of them, or they'll both upload the same pictures.

Google Photos patch FAQ

It's Google's Photos APK with Akash-Sriram's open-source community patches applied, built by the community AutoBuilds pipeline. It is not an official Morphe bundle and this site doesn't build it. Photos has access to your whole library, so think twice and only install it if you trust the source.

The Spoof features patch makes Photos treat your phone like a Pixel, and the patch author lists unlimited storage as one of the effects. Storage is decided on Google's servers, though, and Google can change or close that at any time. Don't count on it for anything you can't afford to lose.

The patched app is re-signed and renamed, so it can't use Google Play Services to log in. The GmsCore support patch makes it use microG instead. Without MicroG RE you can't sign in.

Yes. The patched build has a different package name, so both can be installed. Just don't let both of them back up the same folders.

Yes. Your backed-up library lives in your Google account, so once you sign in it loads the same way it would on a new phone.
