What is Morphe KakaoTalk?

KakaoTalk is Kakao's messenger and the default chat app for most people in Korea. Over the years it has filled up with extra layers: BizBoard ads in the friends list and chat list, a shopping tab, short-form video, and an unread badge that stops counting at 99 or 300+.

This build uses AmpleRevanced's community bundle revanced-patches and was built with Morphe CLI by the community AutoBuilds pipeline. It's a large set, with dozens of KakaoTalk patches switched on by default, plus a settings tab where you can change many of them. These aren't official Morphe patches, and the Morphe developers didn't make this APK.

Highlights

Ads cleared out

Removes BizBoard ads in the friends and chat lists, More tab ads, OpenChat feed ads, the KakaoPay banner and short-form ads. The Shop and Short-form tabs go too.

Deleted messages stay visible

Deleted, hidden and edited messages remain readable in the chat log. Replies and reactions on them are blocked, so you don't respond to something the other side thinks is gone.

See who has read

Read receipts show which members have and haven't read each message, and unread counts show the real number instead of 99 or 300+.

Ghost mode

The other person doesn't see that you're typing.

Photo location stripped

Images sent in original quality lose their EXIF data, including GPS location. The picture and its orientation are kept.

Its own settings tab

A Morphe-style settings tab holds the added options, such as hiding More tab items, swiping to reply to feed messages and turning off OpenChat comments.

There's more in the set: forwarding links that are normally blocked, saving other people's profile photos, bigger text messages, and turning off Sentry and other trackers. The emoticon tweak lets you send an emoticon you haven't bought once a day, not freely.

Before and during install

  1. Back up your chats in KakaoTalk first (Settings → Chats → Back up chats). Uninstalling the official app deletes local chat history.
  2. Uninstall the Play Store KakaoTalk. Its signature differs from this build, so Android won't install over it.
  3. Download the universal APK from the box above, allow installs from unknown apps, and install it.
  4. Log in, restore your chat backup, and look through the added settings tab.

KakaoTalk FAQ

It's KakaoTalk with patches from AmpleRevanced's open-source revanced-patches bundle, built with Morphe CLI by the community AutoBuilds pipeline. It isn't from Kakao or the Morphe developers. A messenger holds your private conversations, so weigh that. It is an unofficial, modified APK, and any modified APK carries some risk, so only install it if you trust the source.

It's possible. KakaoTalk checks its own signature and integrity, and this build includes patches that spoof those checks so the app keeps running. That lowers the chance of detection but doesn't rule it out. Kakao's terms don't allow modified clients.

Be careful. A patch bypasses the KakaoPay Moat integrity check so Pay isn't force-closed, but the patch description itself says payments on a modified build are still risky. Keep payments on the official app if they matter to you.

Only if you back them up in the official app before uninstalling it, then restore the backup after logging in to this build.
