What is Morphe Prime Video?

Prime Video is Amazon's streaming app for films and series, including Amazon's own shows. In many countries the standard plan now plays ads, which are stitched into the video stream itself, and the player has no playback speed setting.

This build goes after both. It was patched by the community AutoBuilds pipeline with hoo-dles' morphe-patches, a third-party bundle rather than official Morphe. All three of the bundle's Prime Video patches are on by default: Skip ads jumps over the ads baked into the stream, Enable speed control adds an experimental speed setting to the player, and Rename shared permissions helps it install alongside other Amazon apps. You still need a Prime or Prime Video membership; nothing here gets you content you don't already pay for.

The three Prime Video patches

Skip ads

Automatically skips the ads that are built into the video stream.

Enable speed control

Adds a playback speed control to the player. The patch calls it experimental, so expect rough edges.

Rename shared permissions

Renames some permissions that Amazon apps share, which can fix install errors. It can also break some features.

Membership still required

You sign in with your Amazon account, and what you can watch depends on your subscription.

Installing patched Prime Video

  1. Download the APK from the box above. Only a universal build is published.
  2. Uninstall the Play Store version of Prime Video. Android won't install a differently signed APK over it.
  3. Allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps, then install.
  4. Sign in with your Amazon account. Downloads made in the old app won't carry over, so download them again.

Prime Video FAQ

The community AutoBuilds pipeline, using hoo-dles' open-source morphe-patches bundle. It isn't from the Morphe team or from Amazon, and this unofficial site only links to it. You'll be signing in with your Amazon account, so install it only if you trust those sources.

Yes. The patches skip ads and add speed control. They don't give you access to anything your account doesn't already include.

Amazon apps share some permissions, and Android refuses to install an app that defines the same permission with a different signature. The Rename shared permissions patch is there to avoid that clash. Its description warns it can break some features.

The patch itself calls it experimental, so it may not behave perfectly on every title.
