What is Morphe StarSense Explorer?
StarSense Explorer is Celestron’s companion app for its StarSense Explorer telescopes. You clip your phone into the dock on the telescope, the app looks at the stars through the phone camera, works out where the scope is pointing, and then shows arrows to guide you to planets, nebulae or galaxies that are up tonight. It also has a planetarium view. Normally the app stays locked until you enter the code that comes with the telescope.
This build uses “StarSense Unlock” from Paresh Maheshwari’s community paresh-patches bundle. The patch bypasses the unlock-code check so all features are enabled. It’s a community patch, not an official Morphe one, and the APK comes from the community AutoBuilds pipeline.
What the patch does and doesn’t do
No unlock code needed
The code prompt is skipped and the app opens with every feature enabled.
Planetarium and object list
Browse what’s visible from your location tonight, same as in the official app.
Sky recognition with the dock
The live pointing guidance still needs a StarSense Explorer telescope with the phone dock. The patch doesn’t change that.

Installing StarSense Explorer
- Uninstall the Play Store StarSense Explorer if it’s installed. The patched build is signed with a different key.
- Download the Universal APK from the box above and open it. Allow installs from your browser or file manager when asked.
- Open the app and allow camera and location access. Location is how it knows which part of the sky is above you.
- If you use it with the telescope, go through Celestron’s normal dock alignment before your first session.
StarSense Explorer FAQ
It's Celestron's app with Paresh Maheshwari's open-source StarSense Unlock patch, built by the community AutoBuilds pipeline. It's unofficial and Celestron doesn't support it. Modified APKs carry some risk, so only install it if you trust the source.
For the sky recognition and the arrows that guide the telescope, yes. That relies on the phone sitting in the StarSense dock. The patch only removes the unlock-code check.
Mostly if you've lost the unlock code. If you still have it, the official app works fine and gets Celestron's updates.
Download newer builds from this page and install them over the old one. The Play Store won't update it.
