What is Morphe Tumblr?

Tumblr is the blogging and reblogging network run by Automattic. It's where fandoms, artists and meme accounts post, and where your dashboard fills up with whatever the people you follow reblog. These days it also fills up with ads, promoted Blaze posts and the odd popup asking you to buy something.

The APK here was built by the community AutoBuilds pipeline with Morphe CLI and arandomhooman/hoomans-morphe-patches, a third-party bundle and not the official Morphe patches. It has eight Tumblr patches, all on by default. Most of them remove clutter. One, Enable premium UI, is purely cosmetic: it shows the Premium badge and settings entry on your phone but doesn't give you anything Tumblr's servers check for.

Patched in this Tumblr build

Ads and Blaze posts removed

Remove ads drops ad-network ads from the dashboard and the paid Blaze posts people inject into your feed. Your following feed and reblogs are untouched.

No Tumblr TV tab

Disable Tumblr TV takes the Tumblr TV tab out of the bottom navigation bar.

No frog banner

Disable ad-free banner hides the banner with the frog that keeps pitching Tumblr Ad-Free.

Fewer nags

Separate patches stop the blog notification reminder, the TumblrMart gift popup and the share sheet that appears when you take a screenshot.

No update prompt

Disable in-app update turns off the in-app update check, so new versions come from this page.

Premium look only

Enable premium UI shows the Premium badge and settings entry locally. Real ad-free status and your blog's badge still need a subscription.

Installing patched Tumblr

  1. Uninstall Tumblr from the Play Store first. The patched APK uses a different signature, and Android won't install it on top of the official one.
  2. Download the Universal APK from the box above. There's only the one file, and it suits every phone.
  3. Let your browser install unknown apps when Android asks, then tap Install.
  4. Open Tumblr and log in with your usual account.

Tumblr FAQ

It's unofficial. The community AutoBuilds pipeline patched the original Tumblr APK with Morphe CLI and arandomhooman's open-source hoomans-morphe-patches bundle and re-signed it. Tumblr and the Morphe team didn't make it. Modified APKs carry risk and this one has access to your Tumblr account, so install it only if you trust the source.

No. The Enable premium UI patch only changes how the app looks on your device. The ads are gone because of the separate Remove ads patch, but your blog's badge and anything Tumblr's servers check still need a real subscription.

One of the patches turns off the in-app update check. Come back to this page for newer builds; the Play Store won't update a patched APK either.

Yes. Login isn't patched, so you sign in as normal and your dashboard, drafts and messages are all there.
