What is Morphe X?
X, still Twitter to plenty of people, has been moving its Android app to a rebuilt interface that the Piko project calls NewX. This page carries X with crimera/piko-newx, the bundle built from Piko's x-lite branch for that new interface. It's a community bundle for the Morphe patcher, not an official Morphe one, and the APK is produced by the community AutoBuilds pipeline.
Piko has been patching Twitter for a long time, and the default set here is big. You'll probably notice these first: promoted posts filtered out of timelines, a Download button under posts, the Premium upsell chip gone from the top bar, and video that stays at the best quality rather than dropping on mobile data. The version code is changed too, so the Play Store stops trying to update it.
What Piko NewX does to X
Promoted posts filtered
Promoted posts and modules are filtered out of timelines. The Premium upsell chip, Who to follow and Discover more sections can go as well.
Download button under posts
Saves photos, videos and GIFs to a folder you choose with your own filename pattern, and unlocks X's own download and offline video options.
Highest video quality
Playback always picks the best available video and audio stream instead of lowering quality to save bandwidth.
Filters for the timeline
Mute posts by keyword, limit For You to topics you pick, and hide posts marked as AI-generated or posts from selected verification types.
Menus your way
Reorder or hide bottom bar tabs, drawer items, post menu entries and action buttons. The Spaces bar, compose button and timeline tabs can be hidden too.
Timeline stays where you left it
No automatic jump to the top when you open the app, the new-posts pill can be hidden, and your scroll position is restored after the app restarts.
Themes and colors
Choose the original colors, Material You, high-contrast or Dim. The built-in color picker that normally needs Premium is unlocked.
Real links and small fixes
Open the real URL instead of t.co, share with a domain like fxtwitter, see poll results without voting, and view sensitive media without the extra tap.
How to install Morphe X
- Uninstall the official X app first. This build keeps X's package name but is signed differently, so it can't install on top.
- Download the Universal APK from the box above. It's a large file, so Wi-Fi helps.
- Allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps, then open the APK and install it.
- Log in to your account and go through Piko's settings to choose which tweaks stay on.
Morphe X FAQ
It's X's own APK with crimera's open-source piko-newx bundle applied, built by the community AutoBuilds pipeline rather than by this site or the Morphe developers. Modified apps carry risk, and X's terms don't allow them, so install it only if you trust the source and accept that.
NewX is the name Piko uses for X's rebuilt Android interface. The piko-newx bundle is made from Piko's x-lite branch specifically for that interface, which is why many patch names start with NewX.
No. A few things normally kept for Premium, like the app color picker and media downloads, are unlocked on your phone. Anything X checks on its servers, such as editing posts or longer posts, still needs a subscription.
No. The build has the same package name as the Play Store version, so the official app has to go first.
The Play Store won't, because Piko changes the version code to block store updates. Download the newer APK from this page and install it over the old one.
